OK friends, I contemplated putting these into a brand new bulkhead and composite dock just installed $$$. So my pilings are spread out 10' from one another and I decided to put 1 light in the center, totaling 7 lights.

I placed them 6 1/2 inches away from the edge and behind the running board of the bulkhead because I didn't want the bottom of the light to be shown on the water side (deck sticks out like 4" past runner)( lights are only like 2" tall). Lights are pretty flush and maybe stick up a quarter of an inch and hardly noticeable. you wont trip over them by any means and even if you step on them with bare feet you will not stub your toe as they are rounded.

I used a 1 & 3/8" speed bit that worked very well on the composite decking. The lights didn't fit snug where I feel if water was to rise they would pop out, however, they slide right in where I can use my finger nail to pull them up. I may try to use a little clear silicone to hold them down where I can maybe pry them up if I need to remove them for either the winter or to replace the battery.

I was going to use 2 lights between each piling and close to the pilings themselves, but didn't want light shown on the pilings (make sense?).

Anyways, I have to say that I think they look great. A Nice faint look to them. Not to bright and not to dim. Just right to outline the edges or a pathway. Will get more to do my outdoor stairs.

Also, I ordered these a few months ago and they stayed in the box until today, which I thought the battery would not have stayed charged. Have to say that all 8 worked after a few hours on a cloudy day. I expect that the lights will last a while considering the price.

I used one light to put into the picnic table where the umbrella would be and it sat flush.

The Pocket Lite fits nicely, and is very easy to install. I ordered the blue led. Now my Ez- Dock has blue lights to help with night docking.
I've only had them a few days, hopefully they withstand the weather.

I placed an order for extra batteries and by mistake I ordered the older style. After I sent the order and realized that I actually had the newer version and immediately sent an email to the automatic email response with the order confirmation. They change it for and sent me the correct ones with no hassle. Your products are wonderful. Thank you.

I ordered batteries, reflector and top. I received exactly what I ordered. The new top was a definite upgrade from the original I bought seven years ago. Very happy with the purchase. Going to order another upgrade or maybe a new light. They look really great on the dock post and plenty of light for docking at night.

We've been trying out solar deck lighting since they first came out. Dock Dots are the best product I've ever used. I'm a professional woodworker and very picky about the products I buy. The different colors have helped as well. I've used the blue Dots to mark where steps are on our deck. Guests have really appreciated this. The batteries on a few Dots are only, just now, losing their ability to hold a charge (3+ years out). I would suggest drilling a hole slightly larger than the instructions say to. The Dots are hard to remove from holes drilled to the original specs.
